Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy high-performance web spiders and crawlers using Python and the Scrapy framework.
• Implement sophisticated anti-bot and anti-blocking techniques, including proxy rotation, CAPTCHA solving, header management, and cookie handling, to ensure reliable data extraction.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver structured datasets from various web sources.
• Integrate scraping solutions with APIs and databases (SQL, MongoDB) for efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Monitor the performance and stability of scraping operations, troubleshoot issues, and optimize existing scrapers for speed and efficiency.
• Manage large-scale data crawls, ensuring data quality, integrity, and compliance with ethical scraping practices.
• Research and implement new web scraping technologies and techniques to stay ahead of evolving website structures and anti-scraping measures.
• Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and the continuous improvement of our scraping infrastructure.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on professional experience as a Python Web Scraping Engineer or similar role.
• Strong expertise in Python programming and a deep understanding of web scraping principles.
• Mandatory in-depth experience with the Scrapy framework, including developing custom spiders, pipelines, and middleware.
• Proficiency in parsing HTML and XML documents using XPath and CSS selectors.
• Proven ability to implement and manage anti-bot strategies, such as proxy management, user-agent rotation, and CAPTCHA bypass mechanisms.
• Familiarity with various web technologies, including JavaScript-heavy websites and rendering solutions.
• Experience working with REST APIs and integrating scraped data into SQL and NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
