As a key member of our technology team, the PostgreSQL DBA will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our PostgreSQL databases, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain PostgreSQL databases in production and development environments.
• Implement and manage database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Perform advanced performance tuning and optimization for complex PostgreSQL queries and database schemas.
• Configure and manage database replication (e.g., streaming replication) for high availability and disaster recovery.
• Monitor database health, performance, and security, responding to alerts and resolving issues promptly.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize database design and query performance for new and existing applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues efficiently and effectively.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and policies for all database systems.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on professional experience in PostgreSQL database administration.
• Demonstrable expertise in PostgreSQL performance tuning, including query optimization, indexing, and configuration.
• Proven experience with database backup and recovery methodologies and tools for PostgreSQL.
• Solid understanding and practical experience with PostgreSQL replication setups and maintenance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach to troubleshooting complex database issues.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative, fast-paced team.
• Experience in managing production-grade database environments with high uptime requirements.
