PostgreSQL DBA

As a SQL DBA, you will be instrumental in ensuring the high availability, performance, and security of our critical database systems, working across a diverse range of projects and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive SQL Server administration, including installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades across various versions.
• Execute and manage robust backup, recovery, and proactive database maintenance activities to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Conduct advanced performance tuning, index management, and efficient troubleshooting of database issues, including deadlocks, blocking, and space management.
• Implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions such such as Always On Availability Groups (AG), Replication, and Clustering.
• Support cluster failover/failback operations and ensure seamless business continuity.
• Manage user access, roles, and implement stringent database security protocols to protect sensitive data.
• Provide critical production support, adhering to SLAs and efficiently resolving tickets.
• Gain and apply basic knowledge of SSIS package deployment and management.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to optimize database usage and design.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience as a SQL Database Administrator, specifically with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and managing High Availability (HA) solutions, including Replication, Clustering, and Always On Availability Groups (AG).
• Demonstrated experience in supporting critical production environments with a focus on performance and uptime.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex database issues efficiently.
• Proficiency in SQL query optimization, indexing strategies, and database capacity planning.
• Familiarity with database security best practices and user access management.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
