Performance Test Engineer

Calsoft is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced QA Automation, Performance Test Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our cloud and backend systems, particularly within the telecommunications sector. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and execute comprehensive test plans and strategies for Telecom Service provider NTN systems, covering functionality, scalability, and performance from requirements gathering to automation.
• Collaborate closely with system architects, software developers, and network engineers to define robust test strategies for new features and product releases.
• Conduct thorough integration, interoperability, and regression testing across diverse segments including device, RAN (Radio Access Network), core network, and satellite components.
• Perform both lab-based and field-based testing to rigorously validate system performance under a variety of real-world conditions.
• Analyze, debug, and identify root causes of complex system issues spanning hardware, software, and network layers.
• Define key performance indicators (KPIs), collect crucial telemetry data, and evaluate observability tools for continuous system validation and improvement.
• Document detailed test results, provide clear, actionable feedback to development teams, and actively drive the resolution of identified issues.
• Champion test automation initiatives, continuously enhancing test coverage across different test categories to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
• Mentor junior engineers, sharing expertise and contributing to the evolution of best practices in system validation methodologies and processes.

Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of proven experience in system test, validation engineering, or acceptance testing, specifically for large-scale, distributed, or telecommunications systems.
• Strong theoretical and practical understanding of 3GPP cellular protocols (LTE, 5G, NBIOT-NTN), with a significant emphasis on RAN and Core Network components.
• Comprehensive knowledge of QA processes, from defining acceptance criteria and requirements to developing comprehensive test suites.
• Hands-on experience with system integration, performance benchmarking, and end-to-end validation techniques.
• Demonstrable experience with various advanced testing methodologies, including load testing, chaos testing, fault injection, and efficiency testing.
• Practical experience with protocol validation, device testing (utilizing AT commands and other methods), and UE emulators.
• Familiarity with testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman, as well as experience with gRPC APIs.
• Proficiency in scripting and/or programming with Bash, Python, Go, or Ruby in a Unix/Linux environment, and experience executing automation jobs using Jenkins.
• Exceptional troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving skills are essential for this QA Automation, Performance Test Engineer role.
