Operations Research Analyst

As our Operations Research Analyst, you will be instrumental in identifying opportunities for process improvement and developing innovative solutions that directly impact production outputs and operational costs. You will work closely with plant managers and business stakeholders, translating complex analytical models into clear, understandable recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop sophisticated Transfer Function models to thoroughly analyze the relationship between various manufacturing inputs and their corresponding production outputs.
• Design and implement Batch Selection Optimization solutions aimed at maximizing manufacturing throughput while significantly minimizing waste and operational inefficiencies.
• Apply a diverse range of Mathematical Programming techniques, including Linear Programming (LP) and Mixed-Integer Linear Programming (MILP), alongside advanced simulation methodologies to solve complex industrial problems.
• Formulate and develop custom objective functions and constraints tailored for unique and challenging manufacturing scenarios, ensuring robust and practical solutions.
• Execute comprehensive data manipulation, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and rigorous statistical analysis on large-scale datasets to uncover hidden patterns and insights.
• Construct, interpret, and maintain interactive dashboards and data visualizations that effectively communicate key performance indicators and analytical findings to a broad audience.
• Spearhead projects focused on critical manufacturing use cases such as production scheduling optimization and advanced quality control methodologies.
• Effectively communicate intricate optimization models, analytical findings, and strategic insights to diverse stakeholders, including plant managers and senior business leaders, facilitating informed decision-making.

Requirements

• A minimum of 6+ years of progressive experience as an Operations Research Consultant or Analyst, specifically within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in Python for data analysis, modeling, and algorithm development.
• Proven background and strong understanding of Operations Research principles and methodologies.
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with various Optimization techniques and algorithms.
• Proficiency in Mathematical Programming, including LP and MILP, and experience with simulation software or techniques.
• Ability to work with large-scale datasets, performing data cleaning, transformation, and statistical analysis.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing complex operational challenges.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
