Mechanical Design Engineering Leads

ATS Conveyors India Pvt Ltd is actively seeking highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Design Engineering Leads to join our dynamic team in Chakan, Pune. This critical role involves spearheading the design and development of innovative material handling solutions, particularly within conveyor systems. We are looking for individuals who can combine advanced technical expertise with leadership qualities to drive project success and mentor junior team members.

As a Mechanical Design Engineering Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our material handling projects, contributing to both greenfield and brownfield initiatives. Your proficiency in design software, coupled with a deep understanding of mechanical systems and manufacturing processes, will be key to delivering cost-effective and optimized solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage mechanical design activities for various material handling projects, including pallet handling, carton handling, ASRS, and automotive applications.
• Independently manage projects, coordinating effectively with customers to secure system approvals and ensure design alignment.
• Mentor and lead a team of engineers and detailers, fostering their growth and ensuring high-quality output.
• Develop and optimize system layouts, demonstrating thorough knowledge of equipment and identifying cost-effective alternatives.
• Conduct cycle time calculations for systems, identifying critical transfer locations and their associated cycle times.
• Design and develop special purpose machines, material handling systems, and conveyor systems, with expertise in sheet metal applications.
• Prepare and review manufacturing drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM), and ensure adherence to GD&T standards (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of manufacturing drawings and project milestones.

Requirements

• Bachelor's (BE / B. Tech) in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering is essential; Master's (ME / M. Tech) is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of extensive and relevant work experience in mechanical design, ideally within the material handling industry.
• Advanced proficiency in design software, specifically Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD (2D/3D).
• Proven experience in 3D and 2D modeling, drafting, and assembly/sub-assembly of mechanical equipment, especially with sheet metal.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects independently and coordinate with customers for system approvals.
• Experience in both Greenfield and Brownfield projects, with a strong understanding of controls.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong attention to detail and proficiency in MS Office.
