Java Engineer

Vestaf is actively seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Java Engineer to join our dynamic team in O'Fallon, Missouri. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement complex, scalable, and high-performance Java applications using best practices and modern architectural patterns.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, architects, and other engineering teams to define, design, and ship new features and enhancements.
• Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and testable code while participating in comprehensive code reviews to ensure code quality and maintainability.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and other production issues in a timely and effective manner, ensuring system stability and reliability.
• Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to deployment and post-release support.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and security through continuous monitoring, analysis, and implementation of improvements.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, applying new knowledge to continuously improve our development processes and product offerings.

Requirements

• Minimum of 12 years of professional, hands-on experience in Java development, with a strong portfolio of successfully delivered projects.
• Exceptional proficiency in Java and its ecosystem, including advanced knowledge of core Java APIs, concurrency, and performance tuning.
• Extensive experience with Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security) and other relevant Java enterprise technologies.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs, along with a deep understanding of microservices architecture.
• Strong background in working with relational databases such as SQL, PostgreSQL, or MySQL, including schema design, query optimization, and ORM frameworks.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and experience in deploying and managing Java applications in cloud environments.
• Proficiency with version control systems like Git and experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and provide innovative solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with local and distributed teams.
• Must be able to work onsite in O'Fallon, Missouri, five days a week.
