Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of high-performance, scalable, and resilient backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and a Microservices architecture.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, front-end developers, and quality assurance engineers, throughout the entire software development lifecycle to deliver impactful features.
• Develop and maintain robust and secure REST APIs, ensuring seamless integration with various internal and external systems and third-party services.
• Actively participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical design sessions to ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and system security.
• Leverage Cloud platforms and container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes for efficient deployment, scaling, and management of applications.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions to optimize application performance and reliability.
• Drive continuous improvement by researching and adopting new technologies, tools, and development methodologies relevant to the Java ecosystem and banking domain.
• Ensure all developed solutions comply with HDFC Bank’s security policies, regulatory requirements, and data privacy standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• A minimum of 4 to 15 years of progressive professional experience as a Java Backend Developer, demonstrating a deep understanding of core Java principles and enterprise application development.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Microservices architecture and developing applications using the Spring Boot framework.
• Proven expertise in designing, developing, and consuming REST APIs, including a solid grasp of API security best practices.
• Practical experience with Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and strong proficiency in using containerization tools, particularly Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with database technologies (SQL/NoSQL) and effective data modeling principles.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent analytical skills, and a meticulous attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile development environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
