Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete lifecycle of payroll processing for all teaching and non-teaching employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Oversee and ensure compliance with all statutory regulations pertaining to Provident Fund (PF), Employee State Insurance (ESI), Tax Deducted at Source (TDS), and Professional Tax.
- Execute full and final settlements for departing employees, including gratuity, leave encashment, and other dues, in strict accordance with company policy and legal frameworks.
- Maintain and update employee data within the HRMS and payroll software systems, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Generate and analyze various Management Information System (MIS) reports related to payroll, attendance, and compliance, providing insights to the HR and management teams.
- Act as a primary point of contact for employee queries related to payroll, tax deductions, and other compensation matters, providing clear and accurate information.
- Collaborate with finance and other departments to reconcile payroll data and ensure smooth financial operations.
- Stay updated with the latest changes in labor laws and payroll regulations to ensure continuous compliance and best practices.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field is essential.
- Possess a minimum of 3 to 4 years of hands-on experience in payroll processing and HR compliance roles.
- Prior experience within the higher education sector or a similar institutional environment will be given preference.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using various HRMS (Human Resource Management Systems) and specialized payroll software.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and reconciliation.
- In-depth understanding of Indian labor laws, statutory compliances including PF, ESI, TDS, and Professional Tax regulations.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees and management.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
