GIS Consultant

As a GIS Consultant, you will be instrumental in supporting critical projects, working with cutting-edge technologies, and collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver robust GIS solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Support the full lifecycle of GIS solutions, including design, configuration, testing, and implementation, primarily utilizing the Esri ArcGIS platform.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge and experience in dealing with spatial datasets and managing geodatabases effectively.
• Develop and maintain various GIS outputs such as maps, web maps, feature services, dashboards, and custom GIS applications using Esri's suite of applications.
• Execute complex spatial analysis and geoprocessing workflows to meet diverse business and project requirements.
• Actively participate in requirements analysis, meticulous solution documentation, functional testing (SIT/UAT), and provide essential production support.
• Efficiently troubleshoot GIS application and data-related issues, ensuring prompt incident resolution and minimal disruption.
• Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, user guides, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), meeting minutes, and other crucial project artifacts.
• Collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, internal technical teams, and third-party vendors to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Support GIS data integration, migration, and automation activities, leveraging tools like SQL, Python, and other relevant technologies.
• Stay abreast of emerging GIS technologies and new Esri applications, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in GIS, with a strong focus on implementing and managing solutions using the Esri ArcGIS platform.
• Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Online.
• Deep understanding of GIS concepts, spatial data models, coordinate systems, and geodatabases.
• Familiarity with SQL and practical experience in Python scripting for GIS data management and automation.
• Working experience with Cloud environments such as MS Azure, particularly in hosting ArcGIS Enterprise or similar GIS software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare clear and concise technical documentation and user guides.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively in an Agile or consulting environment.
• Availability for face-to-face interviews at IBM locations based on account requests and day-one reporting post onboarding.
