Design Engineer

Are you an experienced and highly skilled Lead Design Engineer with a strong background in mechanical engineering and thermal systems? Sayhire is actively seeking a dynamic and accomplished Lead Design Engineer to join our client's Heating Department Engineering team, specifically within the Steam PU division. This pivotal role is based in Pune and offers an excellent opportunity to spearhead innovative design projects within a leading engineering environment. As a Lead Design Engineer, you will be instrumental in the design and development of critical steam system components, contributing significantly to our client's product excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and engineering activities for steam systems and associated components within the Heating Department.
• Oversee the detailed design, development, and optimization of industrial valves, pressure reducing valves (PRVs), steam traps, and heat exchangers.
• Conduct advanced engineering calculations, simulations, and analyses to validate design integrity and performance.
• Prepare comprehensive Bills of Material (BOMs) and technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
• Utilize advanced CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Creo to develop precise 2D and 3D designs.
• Ensure all design work complies with international industry standards including ASME, API, ASTM, IS, and PED.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, project management, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless product development from concept to commissioning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• A minimum of 10 to 14 years of progressive experience in mechanical design, specifically within steam systems and thermal engineering.
• Demonstrated expertise in the design and application of industrial valves, PRVs, steam traps, and heat exchangers.
• Proficiency in mechanical design principles, engineering calculations, and the creation of detailed BOMs.
• Advanced user of CAD software, particularly AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Creo or equivalent platforms.
• Thorough understanding and practical application of industry standards such as ASME, API, ASTM, IS, and PED.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a proven ability to lead complex engineering projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders.
