Delivery Leader

Virtusa is actively seeking an accomplished and strategic Delivery Leader to join our dynamic team in Hyderabad, India. This pivotal role is focused on overseeing the successful execution of strategic programs and portfolio delivery within our critical Banking vertical. As a senior leader, you will be instrumental in driving value-led engagements, ensuring operational excellence, and fostering account growth across multi-technology initiatives, with a minimum of 18 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Program Ownership: Take complete ownership of delivery across a diverse array of multi-technology programs, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and client expectations within the banking sector.
• Portfolio Management Excellence: Strategically manage a complex portfolio of projects and programs, optimizing resource allocation, mitigating risks, and driving continuous improvement in delivery processes.
• P&L Accountability: Demonstrate strong ownership of Profit & Loss (P&L) for the assigned portfolio, focusing keenly on delivery efficiency, cost optimization, and overall financial profitability.
• Domain-Led Value Creation: Leverage deep banking domain expertise to design and execute value-driven engagements, ensuring solutions are relevant, impactful, and tailored to industry-specific needs.
• Global Team Leadership: Lead and inspire large, globally distributed delivery organizations, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance across diverse teams.
• Strategic Client Engagement: Build and nurture strategic client relationships, particularly within the US market, acting as a trusted advisor and partner to drive long-term business growth and satisfaction.
• Governance and Operational Rigor: Establish and enforce robust governance frameworks, operational rigor, and execution discipline to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery outcomes.
• Emerging Technology Exposure: Stay abreast of and demonstrate exposure to emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Transformation trends, guiding teams in adopting innovative solutions.
• Business Development Support: Actively support Request for Proposals (RFPs), large deal pursuits, and advanced solutioning initiatives, contributing significantly to Virtusa's growth agenda.
• Account Growth and Expansion: Drive a proven track record in fostering account growth and expansion, identifying new opportunities, and strengthening existing client partnerships.
• Exceptional Leadership: Exhibit outstanding leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills to navigate complex organizational landscapes and inspire confidence among clients and teams.

Requirements

• A minimum of 18 years of extensive experience in IT delivery leadership, with a significant focus on managing large-scale programs and portfolios within the banking or financial services industry.
• Proven expertise in end-to-end program and portfolio delivery, demonstrating a track record of successfully managing complex, multi-technology initiatives.
• Strong P&L management skills, with a clear understanding of financial metrics and a history of driving delivery efficiency and profitability.
• Deep, demonstrable domain expertise in the banking sector, enabling a clear understanding of client challenges and the ability to propose value-adding solutions.
• Experience in leading and managing large, geographically dispersed global teams, fostering collaboration and achieving high performance.
• Exceptional client-facing skills, including strategic engagement, relationship building, and effective communication with senior stakeholders, particularly in the US.
• A strategic mindset with a keen eye for operational excellence, governance, and disciplined execution of delivery processes.
• Demonstrated exposure to and understanding of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other Digital Transformation initiatives.
