Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of complex reports, dashboards, and interactive analytical solutions using the full suite of IBM Cognos BI products.
• Create and manage sophisticated data models and packages within Cognos Framework Manager, ensuring optimal performance and scalability for various business requirements.
• Implement and enforce robust data security measures and access controls within the Cognos environment to safeguard sensitive information.
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and data analysts to meticulously gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into comprehensive technical specifications for Cognos solutions.
• Develop and maintain integrations with IBM OpenPage, ensuring seamless data flow and enabling advanced risk and compliance reporting capabilities.
• Conduct thorough unit, integration, and system testing, and provide essential support during user acceptance testing (UAT) to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of all developed Cognos applications.
• Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in existing Cognos reports and queries, applying best practices for optimization and efficiency.
• Provide expert-level technical support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for Cognos-related incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and continuity of operations.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and features in Cognos and related BI technologies to recommend and implement continuous improvements.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related quantitative field is highly preferred.
• A significant and demonstrable career history of 7 to 15 years as a dedicated and proficient Cognos Developer.
• Mandatory and extensive hands-on experience with IBM Cognos BI, encompassing advanced reporting, dashboard creation, Analysis Studio, and Query Studio.
• Proven expertise in developing and managing data models using Cognos Framework Manager, including dimensional modeling and star schema design.
• Strong, practical experience with IBM OpenPage for GRC solutions and its integration with reporting tools.
• In-depth understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and advanced SQL querying for various database platforms.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with both technical teams and business users.
• Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment, demonstrating independence and strong teamwork.
