Chief of Staff to Managing Director

SpotDraft is actively seeking an accomplished and strategic Chief of Staff to our CTO to join our dynamic team in Bengaluru. This pivotal role is designed for an exceptional individual who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution, playing a critical part in accelerating our engineering organization's pace, instilling structure amidst complexity, and spearheading some of the company's highest-priority initiatives. As a Chief of Staff, you will provide invaluable operating leverage, combining engineering strategy, program leadership, and technical problem-solving to drive significant impact.

You will work closely with the CTO, acting as a trusted advisor and an extension of their leadership, ensuring that strategic objectives are met with precision and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct strategic and operational support to the CTO, assisting in setting and achieving critical engineering objectives.
• Lead and manage high-priority cross-functional initiatives, ensuring timely execution and successful outcomes within the engineering department.
• Optimize engineering workflows, processes, and communication channels to enhance productivity and foster a collaborative environment.
• Facilitate effective communication and alignment between the CTO’s office, engineering teams, and other business units.
• Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and analyses for executive leadership, offering insights into engineering performance and strategic progress.
• Act as a key liaison, representing the CTO in various internal and external meetings and discussions.
• Conduct research and analysis on emerging technologies, industry trends, and competitive landscapes to inform strategic decision-making.
• Support the CTO in talent acquisition, development, and organizational design for the engineering team.

Requirements

• Proven track record of 7+ years in a strategic, operational, or program leadership role, preferably within a high-growth technology or software company.
• A strong foundational understanding of engineering principles, software development lifecycle, and technical environments.
• Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and process improvement.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex strategic visions into concrete, actionable plans and drive them to successful completion.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• A proactive, self-starter mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and bring structure to complex challenges.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related technical field is highly preferred.
