Automation Testing Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and comprehensive maintenance of automated test scripts and frameworks across various platforms, including web, mobile, and API applications, ensuring reusability and scalability.
• Collaborate actively and efficiently with cross-functional teams, including software developers, product managers, business analysts, and fellow QA engineers, to thoroughly understand project requirements and translate them into detailed, effective test plans and test cases.
• Proactively identify, meticulously document, and diligently track software defects and inconsistencies, driving their timely resolution through effective communication with development teams and verifying fixes through rigorous retesting cycles.
• Architect, implement, and continuously enhance resilient and scalable automation test frameworks, contributing significantly to the ongoing improvement of our overall testing processes and infrastructure.
• Engage deeply in all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), from the initial stages of requirements analysis and design to development, deployment, and post-release validation and support, ensuring quality at every step.
• Execute a diverse range of testing activities, encompassing functional, regression, performance, integration, and security testing, strategically leveraging automation tools and techniques wherever feasible to maximize efficiency and coverage.
• Perform in-depth analysis of test results, prepare clear and concise detailed reports, and communicate findings, risks, and progress effectively to project stakeholders and management.
• Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in automation testing, actively exploring and recommending new tools and methodologies to enhance our testing capabilities.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressive and hands-on experience specifically in software automation testing, demonstrating a strong track record of successful project delivery.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing, developing, and implementing robust automation frameworks utilizing industry-leading tools such as Selenium WebDriver, coupled with exceptional programming proficiency in languages like Java or Python.
• Profound understanding of various software testing methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid models, alongside a deep knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and QA best practices.
• Extensive experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN) and practical exposure to Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, enabling faster and more reliable releases.
• Proven ability to perform database testing using SQL queries and extensive experience with API testing tools such as Postman, Swagger, or SOAP UI, ensuring comprehensive backend validation.
• Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and complex problem-solving abilities, coupled with outstanding verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical concepts clearly.
