Automation Test Engineer (JavaScript)

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality automation test scripts using Java and Selenium WebDriver.
• Lead API automation testing efforts utilizing tools such as Rest Assured, Postman, Ready API, and Soap UI to ensure robust backend system performance.
• Contribute significantly to and, where appropriate, lead the development of automation frameworks from scratch.
• Implement Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) methodologies with Cucumber to enhance collaboration and clarity in testing.
• Conduct thorough manual testing and apply strong fundamental testing concepts throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Utilize defect tracking tools like Jira, Bugzilla, and HP ALM for efficient bug reporting, tracking, and resolution.
• Develop and execute SQL and PL/SQL scripts for database validation and data integrity checks.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate closely with development, product, and other QA teams to deliver high-quality, bug-free software releases.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 to 12 years of hands-on experience in Quality Assurance or application development.
• Proven expertise in Java programming language and Selenium WebDriver for automation script creation and framework development.
• Demonstrated strong knowledge and practical experience in API automation, including tools like Rest Assured, Postman, and Soap UI.
• Solid understanding and practical application of BDD principles and Cucumber framework.
• Strong command over manual testing concepts, processes, and various testing methodologies.
• Proficiency in SQL scripting and PL/SQL for effective database testing.
• Experience with widely used defect tracking tools such as Jira, Bugzilla, or HP ALM.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment, blending in-office and remote collaboration.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
