Automation & ETL Tester

As an ETL Tester at PylonMC, you will play a crucial part in our data quality assurance initiatives, working with complex data sets and ensuring seamless data flow. We are looking for an individual with 3-6 years of experience who is passionate about data and meticulous in their approach to testing and validation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive ETL test plans and test cases to validate data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
• Perform thorough data quality checks, data validation, and data reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness across various data sources and target systems.
• Utilize Python to create automated test scripts and tools for efficient ETL testing and in-depth data analysis.
• Write and execute complex SQL queries to query databases, analyze data, and verify data integrity and consistency.
• Collaborate closely with data engineers, developers, and business analysts to understand data requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Identify, document, and track defects, working proactively with development teams to resolve issues promptly and effectively.
• Ensure adherence to data governance policies and maintain high standards of data quality throughout the entire ETL pipeline.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing methodologies, tools, and processes within the data quality assurance team.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 to 6 years of professional experience specifically in ETL Testing.
• Strong hands-on experience and proficiency in using Python for data validation, scripting, and automation tasks.
• Expert-level knowledge of SQL, including writing complex queries, understanding database schemas, and performing data manipulation.
• Demonstrated experience with at least one major cloud platform: Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, various ETL methodologies, and data integration patterns.
• Experience with diverse data sources, including relational databases, flat files, and API integrations.
• Excellent analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong problem-solving aptitude.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment and collaborate seamlessly with distributed teams.
