Key Responsibilities

• Perform essential SQL Server database administration tasks, including comprehensive backup and restore operations, installation, configuration, and proactive security maintenance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex database errors and performance bottlenecks efficiently to ensure continuous system stability and optimal operation.
• Develop and utilize T-SQL, PowerShell, or equivalent scripting knowledge for automation, advanced database queries, and enhanced troubleshooting capabilities.
• Provide hands-on support and constructive feedback to development teams to resolve application and deployment-related database challenges effectively.
• Monitor and maintain database health using advanced troubleshooting tools such as BlackBox, Fiddler, and WireShark for system, application, and performance monitoring.
• Manage and prioritize over 5 simultaneous ongoing support investigations, demonstrating strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Contribute to the development and delivery of internal education programs, mentoring peers, and fostering a collaborative, knowledge-sharing environment within the team.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of proven working experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar technical support role.
• Microsoft SQL Server Certified individuals are highly preferred, demonstrating a strong foundational understanding.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL Server operations, particularly within mid to large-size organizations, including practical experience with SQL DB backup/restore, installation, configuration, and security management.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as T-SQL and PowerShell is essential.
• Working knowledge of core technologies including Windows Operating System, Windows Clustering, AlwaysOn, and Active Directory.
• Experience with cloud platforms, specifically Azure, virtualization technologies, and the ability to host and deploy enterprise software.
• Demonstrated ability to use troubleshooting tools like BlackBox, Fiddler, or WireShark for effective system and application performance monitoring.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to work independently and seamlessly as part of a cross-functional team.
• Strong verbal and written command of the English language for clear communication.
