AI Data Engineer

TechnoComp Inc. is seeking an exceptionally skilled and highly experienced Data Engineer to join our dynamic team in Hartford, CT. This is a critical, long-term onsite contract role for individuals with over 15 years of dedicated experience in data engineering, focused on building robust, scalable, and efficient data solutions. As a senior Data Engineer, you will be instrumental in architecting, building, and optimizing our data infrastructure, playing a pivotal role in driving data-driven decisions. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable data pipelines using industry-leading technologies such as Databricks and Azure Data Factory. This includes complex data ingestion, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) processes for large, diverse datasets from various sources.
• Architect, implement, and optimize enterprise-grade data warehouse solutions leveraging Snowflake, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency to support advanced analytics and business intelligence initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, business analysts, and other software engineers, to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality, reliable data products that meet strategic business objectives.
• Ensure the highest standards of data quality, integrity, and security across all data platforms and pipelines, implementing robust monitoring and validation processes.
• Continuously optimize existing data infrastructure for peak performance, cost-efficiency, reliability, and maintainability, identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
• Champion best practices in data governance, data modeling (dimensional, star/snowflake schema), metadata management, and advanced ETL/ELT methodologies.
• Utilize development tools such as GitHub Copilot for accelerated coding and effectively manage projects using Agile methodologies within JIRA.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and methodologies in the data engineering landscape to drive continuous improvement and foster innovation.

Requirements

• A minimum of 15 years of progressive and hands-on experience as a Data Engineer or in a substantially similar, senior-level data-focused role.
• Deep expertise in designing, building, and optimizing complex data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes, with significant hands-on experience using Databricks and Azure Data Factory.
• Extensive, proven hands-on experience with Snowflake for advanced data warehousing, data lake integration, and comprehensive data platform management.
• Exceptional proficiency in SQL for complex query writing and data manipulation, coupled with strong programming skills in a relevant language (e.g., Python, Scala).
• Solid understanding and practical experience with cloud platforms (Azure ecosystem is highly preferred given ADF expertise) and their data-related services.
• Strong understanding of data modeling techniques, robust data governance frameworks, and critical data quality principles.
• Proficiency with modern version control systems like GitHub and a proven ability to work effectively within Agile development methodologies using JIRA.
• Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts.
• This is an exclusively onsite role located in Hartford, CT. Candidates must be local to the area and possess valid US work authorization (Green Card or US Citizen).
