Agronomist

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive field visits to meticulously assess crop health, analyze soil conditions, and identify potential pest and disease infestations.
• Develop, implement, and monitor effective crop management plans, including tailored fertilization schedules, efficient irrigation strategies, and integrated pest control measures.
• Provide expert advice, technical guidance, and practical support to farmers on best agricultural practices, emerging technologies, and sustainable farming methods.
• Collect and analyze soil samples, interpreting results to recommend appropriate soil amendments and fertility improvement strategies.
• Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of various agricultural inputs, techniques, and innovative solutions implemented in the field.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in agricultural research, technology, industry trends, and relevant regulatory changes.
• Prepare detailed and accurate reports on crop performance, field observations, project outcomes, and actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including research and development, to integrate agronomic insights into broader company projects and initiatives.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Crop Science, Soil Science, Plant Pathology, or a closely related field.
• A minimum of 2-5 years of proven, hands-on experience as an Agronomist or in a similar agricultural advisory, research, or field management role.
• Strong foundational knowledge of local crops, diverse soil types, climatic conditions, and prevalent agricultural challenges in the region.
• Demonstrated familiarity with various farming techniques, advanced pest and disease management strategies, and sustainable agriculture principles.
• Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and persuasively to farmers and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in agricultural data collection, analysis, interpretation, and professional report writing.
• Candidates currently based in or willing to relocate to Indore will be given strong preference, given the on-site nature of this role.
