D2P Consultancy is seeking a highly motivated New Product Development (NPD) Intern to join our expanding team. This is a unique opportunity to gain comprehensive, hands-on experience in bringing groundbreaking food products from concept to commercialization, working closely with industry founders and a core strategy team in Mumbai.

As a New Product Development Intern, you will be at the forefront of creating the next generation of food products, contributing significantly to projects that shape the future of the food industry. This role offers unparalleled exposure to the entire product lifecycle within a supportive and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Actively participate in the full product development and research & development (R&D) lifecycle, from ideation to launch.
• Contribute to the innovation of 'better-for-you' food products, focusing on health, nutrition, and market trends.
• Conduct thorough research on food packaging materials, formats, and regulatory compliance, making recommendations for optimal packaging solutions across various food categories.
• Perform comprehensive market and competitor research to identify new opportunities, trends, and consumer demands in the food & beverage sector.
• Engage with manufacturing ecosystems and third-party vendors to understand production capabilities and ensure seamless product scale-up.
• Assist in client-facing project management tasks, collaborating directly with clients and internal teams to meet project objectives.
• Work closely with D2P Consultancy founders and the core strategy team, gaining mentorship and insights into business operations and strategic decision-making.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Possess a strong foundational understanding of food ingredients, various formulations, and industrial manufacturing processes.
• Demonstrate good knowledge of food packaging materials, different packaging formats, relevant packaging regulations, and strategic packaging selection for diverse food categories.
• Exhibit a curious, detail-oriented mindset with a proactive willingness to take ownership of tasks and projects.
• Must be based in Mumbai and able to reliably commute to our Goregaon West office for in-office work.
• A passion for food innovation and a desire to make a tangible impact in the food and beverage industry.
